Swing Action

Swing into Winter

We've just emerged from the worst storm in New Zealand in 30 years... Our little town got off lightly and even ended up with a glorious, sunny day on the shortest day of the year. Perfect timing for an outing to the park.  Check out Simone's first time on the swing!

There was also the recent visit to the fire station....gotta love small towns.

Morning Tea

Simone and I frequently visit our octogenarian friends Phyllis and Joe and their carer Chris.  We always have morning tea. Here are some pics. They gave Simone the adorable purple outfit she is wearing.

The Little Kneeler

Simone is working her way through several milestones.  Her third tooth is on the way in - we can see it poking out of the top gums.  Despite the discomfort she is making her way around the house - commando crawling is her preferred method of transport, but she can actually crawl the proper way too.  Lately, she has been practicing pulling herself up - this affords her a better view out the front door and a sneaky way to get to the bottle on the coffee table.  The little dare devil even tried to stand at the trunk, but this ended in teared filled tumble.  I am sure there will be more attempts soon.

so that's what's outside...

Winter Fasion -

Our little poppet in some homemade clothes - the red vest was made for Anu when she was a girl.  Booties are by Granny Mary.  Jumper from Andy and Sylvia in PDX.

Winter on the Beach

Winter is here.  Today we had a beautiful crisp sunny day of easterly winds after a long weekend of relentless rain!

Took Simone to the beach for some fresh air.  Turns out - she likes to eat sand.... Can't wait for the poop.
